The Enemy Is Inside You, Living In Your DNA!

“We never get rid of our demons, we just learn to live above them.” -The Ancient One from the movie Dr. Strange

My father was a photographer and wanted to do that as a career before debt took over (lack of wealth). My mother was a writer and wanted to do that as a career before she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (lack of health). Both my grandmothers were amazing cooks and wanted to do that as a career before the stress of being a wife and mother entered the picture (lack of health). My great-grandmother had an independent and entrepreneurial  spirit, but was living in the wrong time where brown skin women living in this land didn’t have many rights or access to resources (lack of wealth). Photography, cooking, writing, and independence I inherited. I  translated that into an amazing food blog, Vegan With Curves. I also inherited disappointments, fear, disabilities, unskillful sacrifices, and poor financial illiteracy that translated in to poor choices in men, lost dreams, and financial debt.

We ALL were born with liabilities and assets; some more than others. But it seems the majority live for their liabilities, not their assets. Why? After all both are locked in our genetic code? It’s because one is being fed and the other is starving. I didn’t witness my folks talking about how much they love cooking or how much they love to write or take pictures. Instead I heard worry. I saw fear. I heard about failed dreams. I saw sickness and medical bills. This continued the cycle of bad health and no wealth inside the DNA.

What is health? What is wealth?

Health and wealth are literally the same thing:

wealth (n.) mid-13c., “happiness,” also “prosperity in abundance of possessions or riches,” from Middle English wele “well-being” (see weal(n.1)) on analogy of health.

health (n) Of physical health in Middle English, but also “prosperity, happiness, welfare; preservation, safety.” (Source: Online Etymology Dictionary )

As you can see both deal with well-being and preservation of life. How healthy can you be if you are stressed over finances? How wealthy are you really if you don’t take care of yourself? Financial problems often lead to health problems. We stop going for our routine checkups that could catch an issue before it becomes a huge deal that leads to more health problems and more financial burdens. It’s vicious cycle that I have seen time and time again. This is why health and wealth are the top two demons you MUST conquer in order to live a full life.

The Enemy of Poor Eating Habits

“And if your body’s ever sick you can self-heal it, good knowledge, good diet, good health, that sounds nice, five-star chefs, season kale, brown rice.”~Ken Brisbon ‘The Power of Thought’

Nothing irritates me more than the statement “why eat healthy if we all gonna die anyway.” By that logic why do anything? The goal is not to live forever in this body. It’s to live a long life of vitality so that you can accomplish all your desires. (Read the book Bragg Healthy Lifestyle: Vital Living to 120!) People will spend thousands on new cars clothes, and shoes but then proceed to eat from the dollar menu. Outside of those who are in situations where food is truly scarce, there is no excuse for the disrespect people show their bodies. Your body is the vehicle you were loaned from the Great Mother to get your work done here. Diet is the foundation of any good warrior.

Weapons needed to reclaim your health:

  1. Feed your body oxygen
In order to do big things in life you need big energy. If you have low energy it means you are not using your lungs to its full capacity; oxygen starvation.   Every morning take in a minimum of 10 deep breaths. I have done this and there are days where I have so much energy and I am so alert, that I will be up for 24 -36 hours straight without food and have no need to crash. (I DO NOT recommend this. This is NOT medical advice one should try to do or follow. I am simply giving you an account of things I have experienced before. This is not an everyday occurrence) The breath is LIFE and once you allow it inside of you, you’ll realize how dead you once were. Read Super Power Breathing: For Super Energy, High Health & Longevity
  2. Feed your body water
We all know the importance of hydration. But don’t just drink your water, eat it. I call it “fluid food.” Hydration is about the water that actually stays inside your body and penetrates your cells. Raw fruits and vegetables have a high water content ( for example cucumbers are 95% water). From personal experience, the more raw food you eat, the less water you will have to drink  and the more hydrated you will feel.
  3. Feed your body raw leafy greens
Colors are psychological. The color of food represents its’ characteristics. Green has a very calm energy to it.  I have a Vitamix Blender (over 8 years with this blender and it still  works like new!) and I blend a combination of green leafy vegetables and citrus based juices to create a synergy combination with the food For example, the Vitamin C in lemons when paired with spinach helps make the iron in spinach bio available for absorption.  Green leafy vegetables keep you calm and relaxed. When you are calm, you think clearer. So incorporating green leafy vegetables in your daily diet is CRUCIAL.

The Enemy of Poverty Thinking and Living

“My religion is winning, poverty is sinning”~Ken Brisbon ‘As Above, So Below”

Years back on a very old You Tube channel I had, I did a video titled “The Problem I Have With The Poor Righteous Teachers“. I stated my issue was, they called themselves poor. I found out very quickly I was speaking to the wrong crowd as my message was not received well. Look money is important, ok? It’s impossible to be poor and righteous (for the most part of course there are expectations). Poverty will drive you to the lowest depths of yourself where you will do any and everything in order to survive. Think about how most of us live now by selling our time. We trade our limited time doing something we have no interest in for a paycheck that barely covers the basic necessities. Your time is gone, your energy is gone all for the result of not having enough to cover the bills or enjoy any luxuries in life. This is poverty living; it’s a sickness and it’s unnatural.

“It is not possible to live a really complete or successful life unless one is rich. The object of all life is development; and everything that lives has a right to all the development it is capable of attaining. The desire for riches is really the desire for a richer , fuller, and more abundant life and that desire is praise worthy. The man who does not desire to live more abundantly is abnormal. Getting rich is the noblest and most necessary of all studies. If you neglect this study, you are derelict in your duty to yourself, to God and humanity; for you can render to God and humanity no greater service than to make the most of yourself” The Science of Getting Rich

NOTHING on this earth lives for free so stop repeating the falsehood of “every thing lives for free except humans”. A herbivore has to walk miles to earn her food and find water. A lion has to hunt to eat. Bartering is still a money system because people are exchanging time and labor. People who are anti money usually are bitter because they haven’t figure out a way to get any; people hate what they feel they cannot obtain so don’t listen to those folks. More importantly don’t listen to the yourself if you’ve been programmed with that kind of thinking. Money is not the root of all evil, lack of money is.

Weapons needed to reclaim your wealth:

  1. Change your mindset about money. To implant new ideas in your head you must learn new concepts. Become financial literate. The following books I recommend are:

The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ DeMarco
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T Harv Eker
Money Master the Game by Tony Robbins
Real Money Answers Patrice C. Washington
Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T Kiyosaki

2. Serve. Serve. SERVE! The more people you serve, the more money you will earn. Like I stated in the beginning of the article, we all have assets we inherited that we can turn into skills and offer to others.  A lot of people lack confidence in themselves and their abilities. I started a doing a food blogging income report  to document my own journey in making money from one of my assets, food photography. I made my first income online by studying companies websites and emailing them with a sales pitched.  Was I nervous? HELL YES! And did some reject me, of course. But a couple didn’t and all I needed was one yes to get started. There is NO greater confidence booster than being paid based on your talents and skills.  So put your services out there! It’s a crucial step in defeating poverty. Read The Case Study Guide to Freelance Writing. This book was the book I used that helped me perfect my pitch and landed me my first client. Also The Art of Closing a Sale by Brian Tracy is a really great book on sales.

The Game: “No one is oppressing you…you are oppressing you

“The inner me smiles, because the enemy in me has died” –Flowers In December

“They” does not have a name, but that person in the mirror does. Is it hard to look your demons in the face? Absolutely. The shame, the embarrassment, and the guilt can eat you up inside if you allow it. Those doubts and fears come marching in, armed and ready to keep its place on the throne. What are you going do about it? Don’t point the finger at anyone else while your internal enemies continue to lock their place inside of your DNA. Fight back and reclaim your land. Take back your assets. You can only defeat an enemy you are willing to face.
